Introducing our Premium Ceremonial Grade Uji Matcha Powder, a limited-production matcha crafted to showcase the finest traditions of Japanese tea making. Carefully produced in Uji, Kyoto, the birthplace of Japan's most celebrated matcha, this exceptional tea is created for those seeking an authentic and refined Japanese tea experience.

Made from carefully selected tender tea leaves hand-picked by experienced tea harvesters, this ceremonial matcha is cultivated using the traditional ooishita (shade-grown) method. By shielding the tea plants from direct sunlight before harvest, the leaves develop a naturally rich umami, elegant sweetness, and vibrant emerald-green color while minimizing bitterness and astringency.

Each batch is slowly stone-ground using traditional granite mills to preserve the matcha's delicate aroma, silky texture, and full-bodied flavor. This meticulous process brings out the tea's deep umami, refined aroma, and exceptionally smooth finish, resulting in a ceremonial matcha with remarkable depth and character.

Suitable for both usucha (thin tea) and koicha (thick tea), this artisan-crafted matcha offers a traditional tea ceremony experience, with koicha preparation showcasing its rich, concentrated flavor and velvety texture. Produced in limited quantities using generations of Uji tea-making expertise, every bowl reflects the craftsmanship and heritage that have made Uji matcha renowned around the world.

Experience the authentic taste of Uji with this premium ceremonial matcha, thoughtfully crafted for those who appreciate exceptional quality, tradition, and the art of Japanese tea.

  • Crafted from carefully selected tender tea leaves grown in Uji, Kyoto, Japan
  • Traditional shade-grown cultivation enhances natural sweetness, umami, and vibrant green color
  • Slowly stone-ground to preserve the matcha's rich aroma, smooth texture, and delicate flavor
  • Hand-picked by experienced tea harvesters for exceptional quality and minimal bitterness
  • Limited-production ceremonial grade matcha suitable for both usucha (thin tea) and authentic koicha (thick tea)

This premium ceremonial Uji matcha is best enjoyed on its own to fully appreciate its rich umami, delicate sweetness, vibrant green color, and smooth finish.

To prepare a traditional usucha (thin tea), sift 1–2g of matcha powder into a chawan (traditional tea bowl) or your preferred cup using a chashaku (tea scoop) or small spoon. Add 60–80ml (about 2–3 oz) of hot water at approximately 70°C (160°F), then whisk briskly with a chasen (bamboo whisk) until a fine layer of foam forms. Once whisked, your matcha is ready to enjoy and pairs beautifully with traditional wagashi (Japanese sweets) or your favorite snack.

For a richer koicha (thick tea), warm your chawan and wipe it dry before sifting 3–4g of matcha into the bowl. Add 30–50ml (1–1.7 oz) of hot water at approximately 70°C (160°F), then use a chasen to gently knead the matcha instead of whisking vigorously. Continue mixing until it reaches a thick, velvety consistency with little to no foam.

Note: This ceremonial matcha is specially crafted for both usucha and traditional koicha. Koicha is characterized by its concentrated umami, elegant sweetness, and smooth texture, and is traditionally savored rather than simply consumed. While this matcha is best enjoyed without milk or sweeteners to appreciate its refined flavor, it can also be prepared as a premium matcha latte if desired.
